Every year for International Women’s Day, the women of Brussels Beer Project brew Brewster Gang — a beer they design, brew and pour themselves. The 2023 edition was a bright White IPA hopped with the Pink Boots Society blend. I photographed the crew, the process and the cans.

Overview

Brewster Gang is Brussels Beer Project’s tribute to the women who make the beer. For International Women’s Day, the brewery’s female talents take over the whole process — recipe, brew day, artwork, launch — in collaboration with the Pink Boots Society, using the Pink Boots hop blend that funds women in the industry.

My brief was to document it the way it actually felt: a real crew, at work and together, plus clean product shots of the can and merch.

What I Delivered

  • Group and individual portraits of the brewing crew
  • Behind-the-scenes process — brewhouse, tanks, canning line
  • Product photography of the Brewster Gang can and apparel
  • A cohesive set for BBP’s socials, launch and press

Why This Piece Matters

A team, not a mascot

The story only lands if it’s the real people. I shot the whole crew together and one-on-one at work, so the beer reads as exactly what it is — designed and brewed by them.

Human and on-brand

Portraits with genuine energy, paired with crisp product frames, gave BBP a set that celebrates the women and still sells the beer.
